There is plenty to do for children, with lots of animals to see and feed, as well as smaller cuddly animals to pet in our barn. Learn more about our meerkats through our daily talks, short pony rides are on most days and you can have a free bet on our ferret races! We have a variety of play equipment, go-carts, a lovely café and a shop to browse. We also have a riding school and trekking centre, offering riding to all abilities.

Haddon Hall

Haddon, Near Bakewell

Haddon Hall is probably the finest example of a fortified medieval manor house in existence and is a favourite with TV and film crews. Haddon Hall dates from the 12th Century and holds events throughout the year starting at Easter.

Matlock Bath Illuminations and Fireworks

9th September 2017 – 28th October 2017

Matlock Bath

The 2016 Illuminations season will run from Saturday 9 September to Saturday 28 October. Fireworks displays will take place on Saturday evenings at 9pm.  Matlock Bath Illuminations feature a unique parade of illuminated and decorated boats on the River Derwent every weekend throughout September and October. Each boat carries a decorated model and as darkness falls the boats disappear into the blackness below, leaving the models apparently gliding along just above the water.
