Important information about your holiday
We want to ensure that you have a great holiday and make the most of your time in the Derbyshire Peak District. To ensure this happens, we would like to provide you with some information to help you plan your holiday and let you know what to expect when you arrive.
What to expect at Landal Darwin Forest
We are a family business that aims to ‘delight every guest so they wish to return’ and we therefore want to provide you with a clear picture of what you can expect when you arrive on holiday in order to give you the best opportunity to plan and have a great stay with us.
Even after restrictions are lifted on the 19thJuly we will continue to operate some of our facilities and activities with social distancing in place. We want all of our customers and staff to feel safe and we will therefore remove social distancing measures cautiously with a phased approach. Although masks will no longer be mandatory, we will encourage staff and guests to socially distance, wear masks and be respectful of others.
We have also found that some of the operating procedures that we put in place due to Covid have worked really well and the feedback from guests who have stayed and used them has been very positive. We will therefore continue to operate pre-booking systems for facilities and private instructor led activities until further notice.
From the 19th July, all of our facilities will be open, but some may have reduced opening times or capacity. For example, we will initially be reopening Little Monkeys Play Centre on a Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday with three pre-bookable sessions available each day. We consider this to be appropriate given the current levels of Covid in society but we will look to open on more days and reintroduce our food offering at the café.
Covid will still impact our business.
You are likely to be aware that there is presently a nationwide shortage of hospitality staff and this is having a big impact on the tourism and hospitality industry. We are also still required to ensure that staff isolate if they have come into relatively close contact with anyone that has tested positive for Covid which means that facilities may have to close with only a few hours notice.
Please be assured that we will do everything within our control to keep our facilities operating but the opening hours and what we can provide may be required to change at very short notice. We will contact guests as soon as possible if such situations arise but please be aware that sometimes things can change whilst you are on holiday.
We will continue to update the website as frequently as possible and the latest information about what facilities and activities are available can be found here.
Booking in Advance
To ensure that you make the most of your holiday we would urge you to plan and book in advance.
You can pre-book Go Active sessions such as Archery, BodyZorbing etc up to 2 months in advance whilst information about how to book the swimming pool, gym, spa and Little Monkeys Play Centre will be sent to you 9 days prior to your arrival. You can pre-book Beauty Treatments by telephoning 01629 736222.
We will endeavour to add more sessions as they fill up, so please keep checking the website as your holiday approaches or join the waiting list to be contacted by Evolution Health & Fitness. You can book activities here.
We strongly recommend that you plan where you would like to eat out during your holiday and pre book both onsite and in the local area to avoid disappointment. We also ask that you do not make bookings that you do not intend to use. To book the Foresters bar & restaurant please click here.
Takeaways will only be available from the Foresters bar & restaurant when the kitchen has capacity, however we are fortunate that many takeaways in the area deliver to the park. Details can be found on the website FAQs.
There is a vast array of local attractions in the Derbyshire Peak District but most require you to pre-book. Some of the more popular attractions may be fully booked if you do not book in advance. Further information about places to visit and days out can be found here.
Follow the Countryside Code
If you want to go walking or cycling in the local area, it is important to plan your route, wear appropriate clothing and plan where you are going to park. Please park responsibly in designated areas and ensure that you are not causing an obstruction by parking on narrow lanes, blocking access to farm gates or private land. Please also ensure that you follow the Countryside Code, adhere to all signage and take all litter home. Please also note that BBQs are not permitted on open countryside within the Peak District. Details of walks and cycling routes both onsite and in the local area can be found here.
We sincerely hope that the above information is useful and that by planning in advance you can make the most of your time in the Derbyshire Peak District. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Reception on 01629 732428.
