Accessibility Information

At Darwin Forest we have a 2 and a 3 bedroom Accessible Lodge. 

The lodges are classified by the National Accessible Scheme as being suitable for ‘Assisted wheelchair users’ which means if you are a wheelchair user and travel with a friend or family member who helps you with everyday tasks.

The modern Classic Vogue accessible lodges have an open plan living space and a light and airy feel. The lodges have contemporary furnishings, wooden floors and patio doors leading to the decking. This 2 bedroom lodge has one accessible double, 1 accessible twin and an accessible wet room with separate bathroom. The 3 bedroom lodge has one accessible double, one accessible twin bedroom and a further twin bedroom. Separate bathroom and accessible wet room.  Both these lodges accept pets.

An Accessible lodge is for people with accessibility needs including wheelchair users. The lodges have a ramp access. The lodge has bedrooms and a wet room designed for wheelchair access but they are not suitable for hoists. Please check suitability via the Accessibility Statement and ask about any special requirements before booking.

To enable familiarisation with the lodges and park before arrival you are able to have a virtual tour of the park, the facilities and the lodges.

Darwin Forest is a flat site and many people also hire (from an external company) or bring mobility scooters. The majority of the forest trails around the park are flat and accessible. There are stair lifts in Evolution Health & Fitness and the Activity Den.

We also have a hearing loop available in Reception and can provide large print menus. 

Accessible Items for hire: 

High Back Accessible Chair - The chair can be hired during your stay from Reception for a £70 refundable deposit. (Limited number available)

Portable Shower Chair - The chair can be hired during your stay from Reception for a £10 refundable deposit. (Limited number available) (Weight limit 120kg)

Three in one Toilet Rail / Mobility Aid - This can be hired during your stay from Reception for a £10 refundable deposit. (Limited number available)

Hot Tub Steps - We have a limited number available for people with mobility issues.
