Peak District
The Peak District hosts a number of exciting events throughout the year. Local attractions such as the Heights of Abraham and Crich Tramway Museum host special events during the school holidays and the Chatsworth Estate a range of events throughout the year. There are also country fairs, food festivals, markets and Christmas themed evets to enjoy. We list events that are happening in the next couple of weeks below, but please ask reception if you have any questions.

Easter Egg-stravaganza
Come on down for some egg-citing, memory making fun at Matlock Farm Park this Easter time! Meet the cade lambs, learn more about them and watch them being bottle fed. See our little chicks and ducklings too for some very gentle petting.

Easter Adventure Quest
Join in the fun with an adventure quest at Bolsover Castle this Easter holiday. Crack the clues hidden around the grounds and enjoy a delicious chocolate reward!
The Mystery of the Golden Eggs
Join in the Easter fun this year with a cracking new trail, the mystery of the golden eggs! Help Lady Lettuce to work out why the mysterious eggs emerged from the ground to earn your reward!

Hop on over for two weeks of family fun at Thornbridge Halls Easter celebration! Join in the festivities and experience an unforgettable Easter adventure!

The Big Brick Build
Get creative with the master builders and help them bring history to life with LEGO® bricks

Easter Eggstra
Go on an Eggventure and help the Super Eggs save Easter on our eggciting Easter Trail and win an Easter themed prize

Easter Activities
Get creative with Easter inspired activities at this Alice in Wonderland themed event with storytelling, craft sessions and a fun, Easter trail for all the family.

Clay Modelling
Enjoy a day of clay-based family fun, led by the creative duo Helen and Sarah from The Clayrooms. This free activity asks participants to create a clay figure for inclusion in a collective artwork for The Courtyard at Peak Village. The theme is celebration of diversity in the community.
Also available on the day will be drop-in throwing and hand building sessions to enjoy.

The Big Bubbleman
The Big Bubbleman, his bubble mill, wands and special potions make the most AMAZING bubbles! Whether it’s monster bubbles the size of a CAR, or swirling clouds of smaller bubbles being chased by happy children, this is pure joy!
Children also have the opportunity to make their own big bubbles or create smaller multi-coloured bubbles with hoops and trays of bubble liquid.

Makers Market
A marvellous Maker’s market showcasing artisans, local producers and craftspeople with a focus on handmade products of quality.

The Snow Sisters
They’re back, by popular demand, this Easter Monday!
Time to channel your inner Anna and Elsa and join in with the fantastic Snow Sisters’ Singalong shows!!

Derbyshire Makers Spring Fair
Browse and shop a showcase of locally handmade products by over 20 talented local artisan makers, including homewares, interiors, gifts, jewellery and more, alongside live music.

Magical May
Springtime magic with the popular Fairy Trail. Meet the Fairy Queen and make a wish. You can make your own wand, and the family can make fairy dens in the wood and go to wizarding school.

Vintage Road & Rail Rally
The Vintage Road and Rail Event at Wirksworth Station features classic road transport from before 1986 including cars, lorries, buses and traction engines on display for a nostalgic trip to the past. Steam and diesel trains will be playing their part too making it a true vintage transport day out.

May Half Term Fun & Games
Challenge your family and friends to giant lawn games, bounce around on spacehoppers, and splash about in our sand and water pits. With plenty of hands-on activities in the beautiful grounds of Bolsover Castle, it’s the perfect way to enjoy fresh air and family fun!
