Heights of Abraham
In 1984 Britain's first alpine style cable car transport system was installed. Rising from the valley floor, the observation cars transport you in comfort and safety and allow stunning views of the Derwent Valley and surrounding Peak District. At the Heights of Abraham you can explore limestone caverns, adventure playgrounds and enjoy spectacular views. There is also a restaurant, visit information and shop.
2019 promises to be an exciting year at the Heights of Abraham, with new events and special appearances throughout the season.

Step back in time and have Medieval fun this February half-term. Listen to the stories about adventurous times past, learn some honourable fighting techniques in the sword school and make sure to take part in the other (somewhat smelly!) cheeky medieval mayhem activities.

Another chance to see the acclaimed exhibition 'We are Bess' which reveals a new side to Bess of Hardwick's story through the voices and experiences of modern day women.
From household names to local Derbyshire women, the portraits of 16 modern women, taken by award-winning photographer Rachel Adams, sit alongside the Tudor portraits in the Long Gallery.

Ecclesbourne Valley Railway
Starting your journey at Duffield, ride on one of the Ecclesbourne Valley railway heritage trains and take in the sights and sounds of the valley by night. As you pause at the stations along the line, professional ghost hunters Haunted Heritage will tell the historical stories of the area and see if there is any paranormal activity present. Will anything be found?
This unusual evening can be enjoyed by believers and sceptics alike but is not recommended for persons under 16 years of age.

Travel back to yesteryear at the EVR Railcar Gala and celebrate the unsung heroes of British Railways. There will be a large collection of railcars that will feature, running to a special timetable.
