The Peak District is home to some delicious local delicacies including the famous Bakewell Pudding, Derbyshire Oatcakes and Hartington Cheese. There are also farms producing delicious ice cream using their herd's milk and a number of breweries and distilleries producing tasty ales and gins.
You can try this local produce at one of the numerous country pubs, tea rooms or farm shops in the area or onsite in our restaurant.

Afternoon Tea
Why not treat yourself to a delicious Afternoon Tea? You can enjoy afternoon tea or a cream tea onsite at the Foresters Bar & Restaurant or at one of the many Cafes and Tea rooms in the local area. Details of places we recommend can be found in reception.
Bakewell Pudding
Why not try a traditional Bakewell pudding, which is still made by hand from a secret recipe that was created by accident in 1860. Visit The Old Original Bakewell Pudding Shop and enjoy this local delicacy in their cafe or take one home for friends and family.
Brewery Tours
Why not learn more about the local breweries and taste some of the produce on a tour at Thornbridge Brewery or Peak Ales. We stock both of these local ales onsite in the shop and at the Foresters.
Distillery Tours
Take a look around one of our local distilleries and found out more about how Gin & Whisky is made at White Peak Distillery or Darwin Forest Gin or Derbyshire Distillery. You will enjoy a tour of the distillery and learn about the distilling process before getting to try some of the delicious gin.
Farm Shops
Why not pick up some delicious local produce from one of the nearby farm shops? Just a short drive away is Highfield House Farm which also has a tea room or try some produce from the Chatsworth Estate at the Chatsworth Farm Shop
Ice Cream Parlour
Matlock Meadows Ice Cream Parlour is located near to Sainsburys in Matlock. The delicious dairy ice cream is hand made on the farm using fresh milk from the farms dairy herd. They also serve home made food in the cafe and encourage families to get to know the animals.
